Finding original voices for Vishal Dadlani's show.

The Playlist features singers of original songs — not covers. I built both sides: the registration artists use to submit an entry, and the console the team uses to audition, screen, and shortlist.

Admin — audition, screen, and shortlist candidates for the show.

For a show whose value is selection, the leverage isn't the submission form — it's the curator's console. How fast can a human go from a pile of entries to a confident shortlist?

Applicant side

An entry flow built around original work.

The registration captures the artist, their original song, and everything the team needs to judge it — framing "original, not cover" from the first field so ineligible submissions drop before they ever reach a curator's queue.

Key decisions

Designing a high-signal pipeline.

01

Filter at submission

Framing the form around original work discourages covers before they reach a curator — protecting the show's identity and the team's time.

02

Curator console is first-class

The bottleneck is human review, so the screening/shortlisting tool is a real product, not a spreadsheet of links.

03

One submission model

What the artist submits is exactly what the curator judges — keeping the data honest and decisions traceable.

Outcome

Open call to shortlist, on one model.
